What is the cost? Would I pay more booking with a travel advisor?
You will pay the same price, or less, when you book your vacation through a travel advisor. Travel advisors get paid a small fee from the supplier (theme parks, cruise lines, tour operators & hotels etc...) for bookings. When you book a vacation, that fee is already built into the price you pay, whether you use a travel advisor or not. If you don't use a travel advisor, then the supplier will absorb that fee as their profit. So, why pay for a service you are not getting? You will get the most value when you partner with a travel advisor, especially when planning events such as destination weddings and group travel.
And finally, working with a travel advisor doesn't mean you have to give up control of your vacation planning! You can still do all of that while having another set of eyes help you find the best deals from dozens of suppliers.

Should I purchase travel insurance?
The answer depends. If you are traveling internationally, have non-refundable trip costs that you can't afford to lose should something happen, or would like peace of mind should you need medical or emergency coverage- then trip insurance is strongly recommended. 'Cancel For any reason' insurance is also an option, but that would need to be purchased within 14 days of booking a trip. Often times, basic comprehensive trip insurance is very affordable and kids 17 and under are usually covered for free if traveling with a parent or guardian. Double check with your medical insurance or your credit card's travel insurance - sometimes there are restrictions to these policies. While we always hope that trips go exactly as planned, we also know life happens. If you have ever purchased a home, car or a life insurance policy, then you know the peace of mind it affords you, and perhaps you might consider trip insurance as well. Travel Guard, Travel Insured Int'l, Allianz and Faye are great options. Feel free to contact me for a quote.
